New Media and Focused Literary Studies is an exciting new course which will focus on an in-depth exploration of the way in which new media operates in our lives. Students in this course may examine numerous types of media including film, social media, gaming, blogs, podcasts, and more. These aspects will be explored in conjunction with more traditional literary forms including novels, poetry, plays, graphic novels, and First Peoples’ texts. This course is designed to be flexible and centered on students’ needs, interests, and abilities.  Students will also focus on all of the Curricular Competencies for Language Arts 10, with an extended focus on composition.
