Athletic Leadership 9-12

This course is for students with a strong interest in Physical Education who want to also engage in team building, leadership and outreach. We will engage in a variety of physical activities away from the school and within our building, create and facilitate athletic opportunities through outreach, support intramurals, as well as, event plan, and referee/coach. There is a classroom portion of the course where students will explore leadership styles and theory, look into athletes as activists, develop event and facility management skills and put leadership theory into practice.

The activities chosen in this class are highly co-operative and often chosen by our working group of students. The success of this course relies on the participation and attitude of each student working hard and approaching all activities with an open mind. One major element  of the course is volunteer work that can be accomplished in a variety of ways.
