The Grade 12 program is intended to allow students the time and opportunity to specialize in those areas of “Metal Technology” that interests him or her most. Although participants will continue to pursue project assignments as suggested by the teacher, students are also encouraged to select and/or design activities within their favored areas.
It is anticipated that students will be developing an informed understanding of society’s work places that incorporate the many skills that they have accumulated during their “High School Metal Art & Fabrication” journey. This course is part of a career exploration pathway that includes woodwork, metalwork, power technology, electronics & robotics, and automotive. In their senior years, students will have the opportunity to engage in work experience in the trade of their choice. Senior students will also have access to college-level courses in these trades while still in high school. This course is an important step towards apprenticeships and trades qualifications
