This course is an option for Challenge students and is not a required course as part of the Challenge stream. It may be taken in addition to the English 12/ English 151 (Dual Credit).
Psychology 12 is a course that serves as an introduction to the study of psychology: the study of the human mind and human behaviour. Topics include an introduction to psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, emotion, motivation, personality theories and mental health literacy/disorders.
Students will learn about themselves and thoseĀ around them by studying the attempts to explain and predict why people behave, think, and feel as they do. This is an academic course that will include class discussion, readings, assignments and term projects.
Note: Psychology 11 and Psychology 12 are distinct courses ex. you do not have to take Psychology 11 to take Psychology 12
AP Psychology: Student must have taken Psychology 11 to take AP Psychology 12. There will be extra material for students to cover on the College Board site should students choose to write the AP exam in May- see Ms Hoffman for details
